Event “Achievements of Roma Women – Successes and Challenges”
On the occasion of the presentation of the next Women’s Day – March 8, on March 10, 2026, the event “Achievements of Roma Women – Successes and Challenges” is being held at the Club of Members of Parliament in Skopje.
The event aims to open a constructive dialogue on the position of Roma women, those achievements, but also the challenges they face at the local and national level. Within the framework of the event, a panel discussion is being held, in which representatives from institutions, international organizations and the civil sector participate, who exchange experiences and good practices in order to promote the rights and opportunities of Roma women.
The goal of the social inclusion of Roma women, as well as strengthening cooperation between relevant institutions and organizations, was to differentiate ideas and to distinguish certain opportunities for improving the position, economic empowerment and social community of women.
The event was organized within the framework of the project “Social Entrepreneurship for Roma Women – Romanse”, implemented by RRC – Roma Resource Center | RRC – Roma Resource Center Roma Resource Center – Skopje and the Association Initiative for Women’s Rights from Suto Orizari The Initiative for Women’s Rights from Suto Orizari. The project is financed by the European Union.
Through a panel discussion, good practices and advice are exchanged on:
• economic empowerment
• social inclusion
• improving the status of **Roma women in society**
The organization of the event was realized in cooperation with the Minister without portfolio in charge of integration and implementation of the Strategy for Roma Inclusion 2022–2030, Dr. Shaban Saliu, as well as with the Ministry of Social Policy, Demography and Youth.
